Frequently asked

Answers about Teterboro, the other New York fields and how a charter from us works. For anything specific to your trip, use the notes in the quote form.

The airport

Where exactly is Teterboro?

In Bergen County, New Jersey, across the Hudson from Manhattan and about 12 miles from Midtown by road.

Why are there no airline flights?

Teterboro is dedicated to private and business aviation, and its 100,000-pound weight limit keeps large airliners out. Airline traffic uses JFK, LaGuardia and Newark.

How early should I arrive?

A short while before departure is usually enough at a private terminal. Your advisor gives you the exact time with the FBO details; on international trips allow a little longer.

Can my car drive to the aircraft?

At some FBOs, yes. Tell us when you book and we will confirm whether your terminal allows it.

International and rules

Can I fly abroad from Teterboro?

Yes. Teterboro has a US customs facility for private flights. Hours are limited and arrangements are made in advance; we confirm them for each trip.

Does the weight limit affect my trip?

Almost certainly not, unless you are flying one of the largest long-range jets on a very long route. In that case the plan may include a fuel stop, another airport or another aircraft.

Can I leave late at night?

Teterboro has noise rules that discourage late-night operations, and Westchester has overnight quiet hours. Tell us your timing and we will plan around the rules.

Booking

What does the price include?

The aircraft and crew, federal excise tax and segment fees on domestic trips, airport and handling fees and any repositioning. Optional items are itemised separately.

Will you quote from White Plains or Morristown?

Yes, and from Republic too. If another field is closer to your starting point, or the aircraft is based there, we will suggest it.

Is there a membership?

No membership, no deposit and no account. You pay only for a flight you book.

Can pets come along?

On many aircraft, after the operator approves. Give us the size and breed with your request.

Who is responsible for the flight?

Teterboro Jets is an air charter broker and is not a direct air carrier. We do not own or operate aircraft; every flight is operated by an FAA Part 135 (or foreign equivalent) direct air carrier in operational control of the aircraft.
